I'm loving the stories inside this boxset so far.
Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf 2) by Anna Lowe...
OMG, happy dance.... I LOVE Anna's "Twin Moon Ranch" series! I love the story of Ty & Lana, & getting little looks into their future, seeing what is happening.... just makes the story that much better. This is another quick read, set a little more in the future than 'Desert Wolf'... Ty is taking Lana on a weekend away, in hopes they can have some quiet time away from pack life & before their baby arrives. I can not wait for the next installment in the series, bring on more of "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch".
Carpathian Wolf (Shift Your Fate, bk 0.5) by Cara Wylde...
I ABSOLUTELY love Cara Wylde's previous books, so to get to read the start of her next series... major happy dance. Rebecca takes her friends advice & goes to see Kassandra, an empath, who tells Rebecca she needs to go the Transylvania. Not agreeing with the old lady, Rebecca still somehow finds herself packed & travelling to Europe.... Loved the descriptions about about the Carpathian Mountians & the area Rebecca stays in, not forgetting the shifter history that's bound to be of great importance somewhere later in Cara's new series.

WOW, this book kept me gripped until the very end. I couldn't put it down! I was very thankful that I'd already read book 1 of this series, I'll be checking out anything else written by Phoenix. Steamy sex scenes, fast paced, action packed & what an ending!

'Nixed' was the first book I've read by Lori King, I must say I really enjoyed it, it looks like it's the start of a possible new series for Lori, I will be keeping an eye out if it is.
Secret Desire (Erotic Fantasies series, bk 2) by Crystal Dawn....
I really enjoyed the concept behind this book, it was fun to read, in both main characters POV's, I just wish I had the rest of the series to read.

1. Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf 2) A Twin Moon Ranch short story by Anna Lowe
Ty and Lana, married, new alpha couple and pregnant are adjusting to all of those things. They need some time off, together. This is a short, sweet read of love and learning how to make a relationship work. Lana is all alpha herself. Dealing with a male alpha requires patience and diplomacy. Can Lana and her hormones be what he needs? Being a dad, Ty thinks, requires an example which he does not have. Can he be the right alpha for the pack, the right mate and most important the right kind of father?Watch these two answer those questions and show us true love.
2. Carpathian Wolf (Shift Your Fate, Book 0.5) by Cara Wylde
Becca was bored with her life--her business and cheating boyfriends. Her decision, where and when she would take a vacation, came about in a unique manner. Wait till you find out where she decided to go.
Meeting Emil was the best part of her stay. Read their story and see what life has in store. Oh and look for a new friend, Amanda, will she be able to help her start a new life? Will they share Emil's secret? Either of his secrets? He plans revenge, but secret number one is the reason. They are hot lovers and don't take long to change from a one night stand to more, much more. This will keep you going and want to read more about them and their lives.
3. Once Bitten, Twice Shy (Wolf Smitten Book 2) by Phoenix Johnson
Krissy and Derek ...The second book of the series begins just after the new couple is resting after an ex tried to kidnap her. Derek rushes in to rescue and loses control of his wolf.
As Krissy sleeps he contemplates that he finally has someone sharing his secret. He is interrupted by a call from his ex who has shown up in NY from England unannounced. Why is she here? What does she want? If it is him, will he give in? How will Krissy react?
Ex's are not the only unexpected visitors. If possible the next one is even more disturbing. Two ex's and now the impossible. Rather than spoil the story I'll just say this is an important person in both their lives and future.
There is plenty of steam, serious questions and chances to prove the length of the relationship doesn't determine the strength.
A good read, begging the reader to read the next and final part of this story.
4. Nixed By Lori King
Annabelle learns she is being (in her opinion sacrificed) given as mate to the son and future alpha of their enemy pack. Soon she realizes she has no other choice. The union is to end the war before both packs die out--pack loyalty wins out.
But Nix, knows more. He knows if they don't end this feud both packs will die out. However he knows what she does not. They are true mates! They meet, will she be able to accept him. Will their packs accept the union. There is the internal battle between the years of hate and the unequaled draw of a true mate. I enjoyed watching this union with all the pressers on a young couple. Can they meet the demands? Will they be strong enough to unite these two warring pack for the sake of a future for them all? But don't think all is romance. Besides the pressure there is more. Read and enjoy. I can't wait for the continuation of the story.
Secret Desire by Scarlett Dawn
This story is part of a series, each book a couple with a complete story, but common characters in each book. Kimmie is one of a goup of six women, white wolf blood line, but still human. They have all decided they don't want to be “animals” and their experience with some wolves has not been good. Paul is in another group, these men are the true mates of the women. They have all been rejected and now are working together to claim their loves.
After rejecting Paul when she learned he was a wolf, she has missed him and not found another man to take his place. The girls have decided to use a dating service for a spectacular one night stand, or maybe more. It is Kimmie's night. A costume ball with masks on until the next morning.
Will their night be the fulfilling fantasy they've dreamed of having? One thing I will tell you. It will be hot—steamy hot. Can Paul convince that life with him will be wonderful and not the nightmare she fears? For me this is a winner and I want to see how all the other guys and gals fare. Don't miss this, another great story in this boxed set.
Mystical Mayhem by Kiki Howell
Ms. Howell is a fairly new author to me. This was a great introduction to her work. The Native American flavor, with a lady dragon and a hot alpha guy was unique setting and story line. I will be reading more from this author.
Matching Dragons By Rachael Slate
Assassins, dragons, family loyalty, matchmaking, this one as it all. Another new author for me. However she will become more after this great read.
Rebel Howl by M. Corchis
Big sexy rock star, player, or yeah, he's a were. Women are a commodity he uses and throws away, who would think he would crumble at the site of a little girls tears? Shifter Unleashed Amber Ella Monroe
Another new author for me. This was a really good story line. Rogue wolves fight the law trying to control of their lands by “human” laws. Well, Mr Governor, you need to pay. They plan to take what is valuable to him, and what is more valuable than his daughter. But what is he to do now. He's the bad guy, and she is the payment—but she is so much more. Now how is he supposed to win her after this? She's not only his prisoner, but his true mate. Can't wait to find more works by this author.
This entire Boxed Set was a fun read, an introduction to some new authors and other favorites. A wonderful deal for all readers. It is a variety with some for all and some new experiences. Don't miss.

There are wonderful stories in this box set!
I loved Ty and Lana's story shows the side of Ty no one sees,
I have to say there were a couple stories in the book that just didn't do it for me but I am sure others will love the last story in the book was great and ended in a cliffhanger so it is now on my tbr list!!!"

I absolutely love this series and love Ty so much he is always so tough yet in this you see his softer side for his mate!!!
Carpathian Wolf (Shift Your Fate, Book 0.5) by Cara Wylde
This was a beautiful love story and I love the history of the town she goes to and hope to be able to read the following books

" Strangers in the night" by Anna Lowe is fantastic. The storyline is is intense, sweet, charming, and steamy hot. I have read several stories in this series and they leave me looking for more!.
"Carpathian wolf" by Cara Wylde - oh my with just this one story I am glad I got this book!. It is such an amazing storyline. The characters are fantastic. It is exciting right from the beginning!.

Derek and Krissy face off against several foes. Some more dangerous than others. Nixed by Lori King. Annabelle and Nix were betrothed as children to put an end to their warring packs. Good thing they turn out to be true mates. " Consider your bachelorette status firmly nixed." Secret Desire by Crystal Dawn. A sweet, sexy story focusing on their relationship and pack responsibilities.

Becka feels something is missing and goes to visit Kassandra at her shop on the advice of a friend. Kassandra tells her she will find what she needs in Romania in the Carpathian Mountains. Even the details such as which train to take and where to stay. Frustrated and without much hope of success, Becka complies. Emil Severin recently took over the hotel when his foster parents died. He is about to sell everything and leave, but postpones to play tour guide when he connects with Becka. Will either find what they are searching for?
3. Once Bitten Twice Shy – Phoenix Johnson – 4 stars
We meet Derek and Krissy just after an ordeal where her boyfriend attacked them. During a fight Derek had to show his wolf to save Krissy. Though they’ve known each other only a short time the intensity of the interaction has brought them close quickly. Meanwhile Aubree ex-girlfriend from England who left Derek when he needed her most visits to win him back. The first half focuses on the relationship, the latter how Derek became a wolf and a question- does he want to keep his wolf?
4. Nixed – Lori King – 5 stars
Annabelle Leigh is being forced to marry a member of their mortal enemy pack; Nix Whiteoak. Many have died on both sides and 20 years ago both Alpha fathers betrothed their children in the hopes of ending the fighting. That was not successful and with all male heirs killed Annabelle’s father invokes the betrothal that she did not even know existed. Nix scented Annabelle two years ago and knows she is his fated mate and has been waiting for this opportunity. He requires a meeting alone knowing Annabelle needs to know they are fated mates. There is nothing hotter than fate – but there are now two packs to convince!!
5. Secret Desire – Crystal Dawn – 5 stars
Cool concept. A group of female white wolves rebuff their true mates as they want to hang on to their humanity. The rebuffed males create Erotic Fantasies dating service to trick them into dates with their true mates. One has successfully fallen for this in a previous story and are living their HEA. Now Kimmie, VP at a Bank is being matched with a “musketeer” who is really Paul who while always on her mind, she continues to refuse the match. Can these clever males create another successful couple as fate intends? Original, sexy, ‘get out of your own way’ story.
6. Mystical Mayhem – Kiki Howell – 3.5 stars
We meet Aiyanna who has a dragon in her, as she is chained up, about to be sacrificed and under a spell that prevents her dragon from emerging. Selene a witch and Aiden a Hawk-man are trying to create an all-powerful being through this sacrifice. Aiyanna wishes the rumored Chimera would come rescue her. Then Xander made of three beasts, dragon-wolf-lion, does just that. He keeps himself apart from others – but Aiyanna won’t allow that as he is her fated mate! Can these two work it out, can they stop the sacrifices which have escalated, and will they join and special Ops Group when invited?
7. Matching Dragons – Rachel Slate – 5 stars
We meet our main characters at the Lotus League Training Facility. Kadence is there to save her sister. Lok is hiding his nature as he has been falsely accused of a crime so horrific that if revealed he will be killed. Kadence purposely fails a segment as part of her plan to save her sister requiring her partner at the time Lok to undergo penance with her. Lok recognizes a very special aspect of Kadence and uses an enchanted chain to keep her near him. Lok wants to claim Kadence and has a way that would force her, but he wants her to choose to be with him. The initial task which would enable Kadence to save her sister is a failure. Lok reveals himself to save Kadence and prevents her from becoming a target of every other dragon…. Can they save Kadence’s sister, can they ultimately save Lok by proving his innocence, maybe even find an HEA.
I find dragon stories seem to encompass more. It is especially true in this case; more intense, more magic, more stamina, more surprises. The relationship between these two is fantastic. This is my first Chinese Zodiac story from Rachel Slate, but it won’t be my last.

This was a great box set! There was really only one story which I could not get into but I suppose that was just down to personal taste. I'm just not a fan of Puppy Play, etc.
Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf 2) by Anna Lowe - great little snippet into the softer side of Ty as he tries to have alone time with his mate (and get her to slow down workwise) before they are parents.
Carpathian Wolf (Shift Your Fate, Book 0.5) by Cara Wylde - Would you travel halfway round the world to find your destiny - even when you don't really believe in fortune tellers?!?!?!

Alpha Shifters After Dark is a very good collection with short stories from some great authors. Anthologies are a great way to sample new authors as well as rea more from your favorites too. They are also good for those odd moments that come where you only have time for a few pages & this collection is ideal. First up is Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf 2) by Anna Lowe, who is a new author for me. It was a good story & the fact that I hadn't read the first book didn't seem to matter. Of course I could be wrong & missed an important point but I don't believe so! I'll find out because it was so good I think I'll read the series. In all there are 12 authors featured and if you can't find something new in this I will be very surprised - there are werewolves, bears, cougars, coyotes, and dragons, something for everyone & all new. This collection is bargain priced as an added encouragement. It's a must read.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review....LOVE these short stories! I am particularly fond of paranormal stories and this collection is enough to feed your soul in between your other books. You can read them all at once or off and on.
You will definitely enjoy them! Each story is different in it's presentation, but similar as in you feel like you are there participating in the adventure.

I was given a copy of the ARC in exchange for a honest review. Many of the short stories were excellent. This is a great way to get to experience the writing of new authors. The pre-sale price is .99 and this set is well worth that price. So if you are looking for a variety of paranormal stories to read during the coming winter days, this is the boxed set for you.

If you are looking for stories by some incredibly talented Authors then look no further. This collection has some of the most incredible and unique characters!
Steamy, sexy shapeshifters of every kind, werwolves, bears, cats, and dragons, even a dog/puppy shifter. So totally thought was unique! I've long loved Angelica Dawson's work, though, and her catch on the steamy puppy play of her shifter did not let me down! Tbh, she was most of the reason I had to buy this set. Still waiting on more of her BMH vampire series!

Alpha Shifters After Dark

I absolutely love boxsets, you get so much variety, like a box of favourite chocolates without the calories.
I absolutely love paranormal romance stories, I read a lot of them, and some of my favourite authors are in this set, so I was over the moon when I was given a copy of the 'Alpha Shifters After Dark (Shapeshifter Paranormal Romance Boxed Set)' by the compiler, Gina Kincade, in exchange for an honest review. This is a 12 book multi-author set, with the stories varying in length from short to novella length and although I would have loved to be able to read all of them, sadly I've only had the time to read four so far, all of which can easily be read as stand alones. I chose to read the first two and the last two simply because they are two of the longest and two of the shortest, and I'll update my review as I read more.
1 - Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf, Book 2) - Anna Lowe - 5 Stars
This is a short, sweet story with humour and some serious steam. Ty, the Alpha of the pack is, whether she likes it or not, taking his mate, Lana away to their cabin for a short break. They have been mated for about three years, Lana is six months pregnant with their first child and he's panicking, you could even say obsessing, about everything that could go wrong, especially as she refuses to cut down on her workload. It only covers the first day of their getaway, which is disrupted late in the day by the arrival of the Javelina. You'll have to read it to find out who they are. I really enjoyed it, as far as it went, but it could easily have been longer.

35 year old workaholic accountant Rebecca Gilbert longs for a family, and the right man to have it with, but really isn't sure about the woman her newest employee, June, has sent her to see. Kassandra is unnerving, but despite serious misgivings, Becca follows her suggestion and goes the medieval Citadel of Segesvar in Romania for a week's long overdue vacation. Kassandra told her she'd find her destiny there. And she did, in the form of Emil Severin. He's focussed on revenge against the Calimala for the murder of his parents, but he finds he can't leave Becca and she comes up with an alternative plan. This is closer to novella length than short story and although it has a happily ever after for Becca and Emil, it ends rather abruptly on the beginning of another story. Not a cliff-hanger exactly, but the background story goes on and I hope there's a happy ending for Amber too, once she gets to New York. This is the first book I've read by Cara Wylde and I can't wait to read the next book in what promises to be a terrific and slightly out of the ordinary series.

I love Ann Gimpel's books, she's one of my favourite authors and this is another terrific story. In a world where Earth is dying because of a thousand year old war between three races who are supposed to balance each other and together feed energy to the planet, but the reasons for their existence are mostly lost to two of them. All magic users, the full-bloods are shapeshifters of all kinds from wolves to griffons, the hybrids, known collectively as the Coven, are human witches given the choice at puberty to have magic or not, and the fairies, the only ones who truly remember, have been imprisoned by the hybrids for their own purposes, but are now about to break out and be free once more. The only one trying to put things right before it's too late is the full-blood warg, Warin von Bethel. He's in Seattle to try to get the Coven to see reality, but he spots hybrid Gabrielle and her bond fairy, Amalia first and goes after them. They are meant to be together and suddenly getting back the status quo becomes a lot more personal for these two lovers. Sad, funny and filled with terrific characters, fights and steamy bits, there is a happily ever after for Warin and Gabby, but the background story is left hanging with open threads for potential future books and I'd really love to read them.
12 - Shifter Unleashed - Amber Ella Monroe - 3 Stars
Sick of selfish men who think only of their own gratification, English major Chelsey is at the shifter owned LIVE in search of a one night stand that won't leave her feeling unsatisfied. Helping out his cousin, the owner of the club, as an extra bouncer, Brock Justice is drawn to the young woman at the bar and takes her to a hotel for the night. She leaves before he wakes and he never knew her name. But neither can stop thinking about the other and their next meeting is something of a shock for both of them. Although Brock decides Chelsey is his mate and is never letting her out of his sight again, they're in the middle of an argument turned discussion when the book just stops. The ending is a seriously abrupt cliff-hanger which left me hanging and unsatisfied. Especially bad, when there are no clues as to whether or not there will be another book to pick up the open threads. This is the first book I've read by this author, and it suffers from something I haven't really come across before. It starts out being written in the third person, which is great, but halfway through it starts chopping and changing between third person and first person, frequently in the middle of a sentence which is confusing and seriously disrupts the flow of the story. The story itself was OK as far as it went, it has some substance to go with all the steam, but the cliff-hanger made it unsatisfying and the sudden changes in POV made it confusing and difficult to follow.

All magic users, the full-bloods are shapeshifters of all kinds from wolves to griffons, the hybrids, known collectively as the Coven, are human witches given the choice at puberty to have magic or not, and the fairies, the only ones who truly remember, have been imprisoned by the hybrids for their own purposes, but are now about to break out and be free once more. The only one trying to put things right before it's too late is the full-blood warg, Warin von Bethel. He's in Seattle to try to get the Coven to see reality, but he spots hybrid Gabrielle and her bond fairy, Amalia first and goes after them. They are meant to be together and suddenly getting back the status quo becomes a lot more personal for these two lovers. Sad, funny and filled with terrific characters, fights and steamy bits, there is a happily ever after for Warin and Gabby, but the background story is left hanging with open threads for potential future books and I'd really love to read them.
12 - Shifter Unleashed - Amber Ella Monroe - 3 Stars
Sick of selfish men who think only of their own gratification, English major Chelsey is at the shifter owned LIVE in search of a one night stand that won't leave her feeling unsatisfied. Helping out his cousin, the owner of the club, as an extra bouncer, Brock Justice is drawn to the young woman at the bar and takes her to a hotel for the night. She leaves before he wakes and he never knew her name. But neither can stop thinking about the other and their next meeting is something of a shock for both of them. Although Brock decides Chelsey is his mate and is never letting her out of his sight again, they're in the middle of an argument turned discussion when the book just stops. The ending is a seriously abrupt cliff-hanger which left me hanging and unsatisfied. Especially bad, when there are no clues as to whether or not there will be another book to pick up the open threads. This is the first book I've read by this author, and it suffers from something I haven't really come across before. It starts out being written in the third person, which is great, but halfway through it starts chopping and changing between third person and first person, frequently in the middle of a sentence which is confusing and seriously disrupts the flow of the story. The story itself was OK as far as it went, it has some substance to go with all the steam, but the cliff-hanger made it unsatisfying and the sudden changes in POV made it confusing and difficult to follow.

Matching Dragons Rachael Slate, is one of the stories in Alpha Shifters After Dark. This is just the start of continuing reviews as I finish them. MD is part of the Chinese Zodiac Romance series, and we see a few familiar faces in this story. Kadence is trying find a way to save her sisters life, and failing part of the Lotus League testing is just the beginning of her plan to do so. What she doesn't expect is Lok, being a part of said plan. Lok, is in hiding so that he may prove his innocence of a horrific crime. While each are hiding their own agendas, they find themselves having to play nice with one another in hopes of completing their goals. The chemistry between these two, is amazing. Kaydence and Lok, had me wondering and wishing if we find out more about their stories in the furture. He is such a strong alpha, matching those alphas in the books before his. Kaydence is such an amazingly strong and sassy female, you find yourself anticipating her next moves as she tries to outsmart Lok. Ms. Slate once again, finds a way to bring Chinese myth and steamy romance to mesh and flow with such talent. I can't wait for the next installment in the CZR series. 5/5 Cross posting to My Reading Reality

Desert Wolf 2: Strangers in the Night by Anna Lowe
I love this series and these characters. I am completely invested in them and their HEA's, whether they've already gotten them or are still waiting for theirs. I loved this inside look at Ty and Lana's life during her pregnancy. It was so sweet to see the love Ty has for her and their baby and how much he just wants to take care of her and make sure they're both okay. But we also get to see the love Lana has for Ty and that she's concerned for him too because of all the responsibilities that being an Alpha entails. It was fun watching both of these stubborn people try to find a compromise they could both be happy with. I also really liked that Cody, who timeline wise hasn't had his book yet, is shown a little more of the respect he deserves as his family realizes that he can do more and that he wants to do more to help out his brother, the Alpha. I also am very curious to see how the introduction of the Javelinas may play out in future books. Anna, thanks again for another great book. I can't get enough of this series.

I received an ARC of 'Alpha Shifters After Dark' in exchange for an honest review. This a Box Set of 12 sizzling stories presenting werewolves, bears, cougars, coyotes, and hot dragons. Some new authors and some old authors with new stories. This stories are passionate, enchanting, thrilling, dramatic and had also a lot of romance and humor. You will definitely enjoy this variety if you like paranormal books! Each story is different but I have to be honest, from the box I only liked 10 of them, but that's me. No Spoilers! It's a great collection for a good price.

I enjoyed almost all of the stories with the exception of a couple of them as I was
not familiar with their work.
Each story is filled with such passion with the sexual chemistry going through the
roof, no wonder we as fans feel that we are in the book watching every scene.
This is a totally must read boxed set.

You have paranormal, wolf, dragons shifters so you get a great taste of what you like and the price is brilliant too. I really enjoyed reading this and have found some new authors to follow.

Love, Love, Love this book. I cannot pick a favorite of the stories/couples. All of them are very well written and you immediately get pulled into each individual world. I didn't want to put it down when I started reading it.

I really disliked Lincoln, the alpha wolf and lead singer of Rebel Howl. For all appearances, he is a self-centered womanizer totally stuck on himself. Thank god, he quickly started to redeem himself. Amazing the power of a true mate and a child to bring out the protective nature in an alpha. Savannah, Lincoln’s human true mate has no clue about the paranormal world. She has her hands full managing her career and raising her precocious two-year-old daughter, Shay with the help of her sister, Lacey. She doesn’t have time for some full-of-himself rockstar, even if he does seem to rev her motor. When her ex (Shay’s dad) shows up and a clash between rival packs ensues things get rather complicated and dangerous. Lincoln will have his hands full claiming his mate and protecting her child. While I wasn’t spectacularly thrilled with the onset of this story due to the portrayal of Lincoln, things really turned around by the time you added Savannah, Shay and an element of danger to the mix.

I have to say that while Shifter Unleashed was hot and steamy I didn’t feel the romance so much between Brock and Chelsey. It’s the classic one night stand for a walk on the wild side. Chelsey is the daughter of the Governor looking for something a bit different when she walks into a shifter bar. She only plans on a one night stand. She gets much more. Brock is the alpha’s brother and an outlaw fighting to protect the rights of the pack. Neither can forget their night together or stop the craving that sinks into them for the other. As luck would have it the two are reunited but all indications are it’ll be a rocky road ahead of them. I was a bit disappointed that the story ended with no real resolution.

I read this one last May before I thought about reviewing books. It’s the tale of how roller derby maven Aspen Richardson ends up with not one, but two alpha mates, Chase and Brad, on the cusp of her first shift. At the same time you have two alphas that were the best of friends as children and not so much today. Now they are both drawn to Aspen… each seeking their mate. Little do they know that they both claimed her as mere pups. These two alphas are in for a rude awakening when it comes to what sharing is all about.

The story of Loren and Judy was a bit different and enjoyable none the less. This is the first time I’ve read a BDSM romance that centered around puppy play. It was that much more unique in the fact that Loren had been bitten resulting in his being able to shift into an actual dog. Imagine Judy’s surprise when she not only gets a younger lover and sub, but a new dog as well. This was definitely a new bent on the shifter/BDSM storyline.
Gabrielle’s Cauldron ~ Ann Gimpel ♥♥♥♥
In the midst of the thousand year war between the hybrids and purebloods, Gabby, a hybrid witch, and her bonded fairy, Amalia are pursued by a warg werewolf, Warin. The sexual tension between the two is immediate, something a pureblood is more than capable of enhancing and Warin has no compunction in using any advantage he can. The three quickly become the pursued. If there is one rule both sides have it’s no fraternizing with the enemy. Danger is imminent and the three have quite the challenge if they are ever to succeed in reuniting the races… for there is one thing the others don’t get. The separation of their magics is killing the earth and it’s only through unification that they will restore the balance. Gabrielle’s Cauldron was a delightful read.
All in all, this has been a very engaging and entertaining anthology I'm sure anyone with a love of shifters and the paranormal will love.

While I wasn’t spectacularly thrilled with the onset of this story due to the portrayal of Lincoln, things really turned around by the time you added Savannah, Shay and an element of danger to the mix.
Shifter Unleashed ~ Amber Ella Monroe ♥♥♥
I have to say that while Shifter Unleashed was hot and steamy I didn’t feel the romance so much between Brock and Chelsey. It’s the classic one night stand for a walk on the wild side. Chelsey is the daughter of the Governor looking for something a bit different when she walks into a shifter bar. She only plans on a one night stand. She gets much more. Brock is the alpha’s brother and an outlaw fighting to protect the rights of the pack. Neither can forget their night together or stop the craving that sinks into them for the other. As luck would have it the two are reunited but all indications are it’ll be a rocky road ahead of them. I was a bit disappointed that the story ended with no real resolution.
Once Bitten Twice Smitten ~ Ariana Hawkes ♥♥♥♥
I read this one last May before I thought about reviewing books. It’s the tale of how roller derby maven Aspen Richardson ends up with not one, but two alpha mates, Chase and Brad, on the cusp of her first shift. At the same time you have two alphas that were the best of friends as children and not so much today. Now they are both drawn to Aspen… each seeking their mate. Little do they know that they both claimed her as mere pups. These two alphas are in for a rude awakening when it comes to what sharing is all about.
Woman’s Best Friend ~ Angelica Dawson ♥♥♥♥
The story of Loren and Judy was a bit different and enjoyable none the less. This is the first time I’ve read a BDSM romance that centered around puppy play. It was that much more unique in the fact that Loren had been bitten resulting in his being able to shift into an actual dog. Imagine Judy’s surprise when she not only gets a younger lover and sub, but a new dog as well. This was definitely a new bent on the shifter/BDSM storyline.
Gabrielle’s Cauldron ~ Ann Gimpel ♥♥♥♥
In the midst of the thousand year war between the hybrids and purebloods, Gabby, a hybrid witch, and her bonded fairy, Amalia are pursued by a warg werewolf, Warin. The sexual tension between the two is immediate, something a pureblood is more than capable of enhancing and Warin has no compunction in using any advantage he can. The three quickly become the pursued. If there is one rule both sides have it’s no fraternizing with the enemy. Danger is imminent and the three have quite the challenge if they are ever to succeed in reuniting the races… for there is one thing the others don’t get. The separation of their magics is killing the earth and it’s only through unification that they will restore the balance. Gabrielle’s Cauldron was a delightful read.
All in all, this has been a very engaging and entertaining anthology I'm sure anyone with a love of shifters and the paranormal will love.

One of the things I love about boxed sets is that I can read stories from some of my favorite authors, and also try out some new ones as well. Most of the stories in this boxed set were excellent, and a couple were not really my cup of tea, but overall it was good stores and good writing which is why I gave it 5 stars, but with a breakdown of the individual books as well.
1 - Strangers in the Night (Desert Wolf, Book 2) - Anna Lowe - 5 Stars, so far . . .
I got maybe a quarter of the way into this book and I had to stop, not because it was bad, but because I loved it and I felt cheated without knowing the beginning of the Ty and Lana love story. I have acquired the first book and I am going to read it and then this one again before updating this review.
2 - Carpathian Wolf (Shift Your Fate, Book 0.5) - Cara Wylde – 4.5 Stars
This one was a sweet romance, with Becca, a strong woman and Emil,a man who thinks he has his future planned, until he meets Becca his fated mate. It is a strong story with a HEA for Becca and Emil but it is clearly just the beginning of a what looks to be a great new series.
3 - Once Bitten, Twice Shy (Wolf Smitten, Book 2) - Phoenix Johnson – 4 stars
This is obviously book 2 of the Krissy and Derek love story, wolf smitten, and it definitely feels like such. I did not care for the ex-girlfriend character at all, which is to be expected, but I was really bothered by the way that Derek interacts with her, it is very off-putting and not in line with the alpha male wolf I usually enjoy in these books. I am glad that I stuck it out though because the second half of the novella is much better and it rounded it out to be an overall okay read.
4 - Nixed - Lori King – 5 stars
This is Romeo and Juliet of the wolf shifter world and I loved it. Well done, just enough conflict and strife to make the possibility, but not necessarily inevitability of a HEA keep us on our toes. I was very sad to see this story end, and I cannot wait to continue this series. My first book from Lori King, but I am eager to see what else she has to offer.
5 - Secret Desire (Erotic Fantasies, Book 2) - Crystal Dawn – 4 stars
I liked a lot about this book, the main concept was great. I love when the protagonists try so hard to fight fate, only to find that what’s meant to be is often better than what we imagine we wanted to begin with. I was disappointed by the slow start of the book, where we got to know way to much about the frivolous details of date preparations, but once they meet up the love, and the sex between Paul and Kimmie is great.
6 - Mystical Mayhem - Kiki Howell – 3.5 stars
I really liked the idea of the chimera, and the mixture of cultural myth and paranormal as well as what I anticipate is soon to come with the rest of the CIA unit. That being said, I also thought that some of the dialog was awkard and forced, particularly with Alexx. And while I enjoy witchcraft in my stories there were lots of random “spells” thrown into the mix that made no sense and were unnessesary.
"Numerus spiritus elementis." "Ex Somno Exsistat Exurens Salamandra Inimicum Involvat Igne! Captus Flammeus!" "Coèuntes, sagittent inimicum meam. Sagitta Magicka, Convergentia Series elementis. Vinculum facti inimicum capient. Sagitta Magicka, Aer capturae.” Maybe all this means something to those who are heavily into witchcraft, but for me, and I suspect most readers, it feels like random filler. With such a great story more descriptions of the effects of said spells would flow much better.
7 - Matching Dragons - Rachel Slate – 5 stars
This is my first read from Rachel Slate, but it will not be my last. I was a little skeptical at first, because I do not often enjoy romances that are based off of popular mythology (they either are too close to the original myths, or so far removed from it that they miss the mark).I think that she did it just right though, creating a world all her own but tangential to some of the classic mythologies. I really enjoyed the banter between Lok and Kadence, and I thought the characters were done very well. I cannot wait to delve further into the Chinese Zodiac books.
8 - Rebel Howl - M. Corchis – 2.5 stars
The main character Lincoln was such a self-serving, womanizing, misogynistic jerk and border-line rapist. He treated everyone badly especially his friends and family. And then you think because he found his one and only it will change him, but it doesn’t. After realizing that Savannah is his true mate, Lincoln has an orgy of sorts with two groupies and a band mate. He just seems to have no redeeming qualities except for his drive to protect Shay, which was actually very sweet. And Savannah is a very unpredictable character as well, seeming to be a strong woman in the first few scenes, filing charges against Linc for his absurd behavior, but then she does a 180 out of nowhere. Now she is a fan girl type of woman who can’t believe this “rock god” wants her, imagine the luck. And this is not after he tries to save her and her daughter, no, she still hates his guts after that. This is toward the end in a magical wrap-up of the book. I don’t like to be harsh with reviews, but the way this book portrays women and their uses is severely disappointing.
9 - Woman's Best Friend - Angelica Dawson - 4 stars
This story had an alternative romance that was a type of fetishism called puppy play, only in this scenario the man could actually shift into a puppy. This is definitely not my cup of tea, but if that form of sex play is something that interests you, this was a good story with an older woman, younger man love.

I really liked this story. Yes, there is a love triangle turned ménage going on, which is very hot, but it is also a good story about coming of age and making compromises for those you love. It had me so sad, thinking because you fall for both Brad and Chase and want them each to be the one for Aspen, but you can’t decide which will be better and your heart breaks for the one who will lose out when it is decided. Overall, just a really great read, as always with Ariana Hawkes
11 - Gabriel's Cauldron - Ann Gimpel - 5 Stars
This is a great story. It shows shifters in a different light, as a form of magic user, rather than merely a shapechanger in a world with witches, fairies and with a sort of civil war going on. There is a bit of awkward horny fairy joining in on the sex thing going on, but it was funny. Warin is super hot and mysterious and Gabby is in desperate need of a little intrigue and it makes for a wonderful story.

This is a great little short story about a wild one night stand that leads to a missed opportunity for a wolf to claim his mate, but in a twist of fate they meet again, when he and his friends are trying to kidnap her. I really liked the story, I just feel like it was part one, and I wish I could get me hands on part 2, to see what happens with the governor and the state of shifters.

WOW/FANTASTIC-fast paced well written creative reads by truly gifted authors. The characters are convincing and spring to life with vivid scene descriptions, intriguing plots, and fantastic dialogue. All the romances are filled with fiery passion. I loved this set and was introduced to a few new authors. If you treasure shifter romance this is certainly a terrific set for your library. {I received a copy of this set for a completely honest review}. In the word of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this set.

Fun Bundle

this is going to have to be a review as I go. two stories in told me this set needed better editing, but I'm going to try and not judge the authors on that one.

Alrighty, I'll be kind and put my overall review here so it's easy to find. This box set was poorly edited with mediocre stories except for a few shining examples. Sexual assault is treated like it's nothing in a couple of them. The lack of editing isn't just annoying, it's confusing and downright painful at times. I would not recommend it.

2nd- Carpathian Wolf by Cara Wylde-2.5 stars imo - So I found a lot about this world that roused my curiosity but the story itself was just okay. However the whole secret societies thing is a weakness of mine so I'll probably read more in this universe.
3rd-Once Bitten Twice Shy by Phoenix Jones-1 star...maybe -20 stars-look, maybe I'd like the first book but this is a big old pile of nope for me. I feel like I need to take a shower, and not in a fun way. I don't even know how I feel about the rest of the story because I am THAT offended. Fuck.
4th-Nixed by Lori King - 2 stars - it was barely an appetizer, but nicely seasoned.
5th- Secret Desire by Crystal Dawn - 1 star - *eyeroll*
6th- Mystical Mayhem by Kiki Howell- 2 stars? maybe? - Why have an indigenous character (who has what seems to be a popular fake indigenous name for authors who don't do their research) if you're going to have her practicing western "magick"? I have issues with authors practicing tokenism. I can't decide if using new age witchcraft and acting like it's traditional is better or worse than playing up stereotypes. Then there are bits where I can't tell if it's horrible writing or poor editing/formatting. THEN there's the random complete recap of another couple's romance that was BEYOND pointless. The only thing that kept this from being a one star is that I found the world building vaguely interesting.
7th- Matching Dragons by Rachael Slate - 4 stars - I'm not an instalove fan but it was written into the worldbuilding so I can deal. intrigue, evil, insanity, sex, magic, dragons, yes. Less appropriative than some stuff I've had the misfortune to read lately.
8th- Rebel Howl by M Corchis- negative 9000 - This one starts with the "hero" leaving a woman crying and feeling violated. Specifically saying she tried to get away in the narrative. But he blows it off because it started consensual and he gave her orgasms. I think there's a word for that, what could it be...
9th- Woman's Best Friend by Angelica Dawson - 4 stars - This one gets four stars for doing something I have not seen executed in such a way before.
10th- Once Bitten Twice Smitten by Ariana Hawkes - 3 stars - I know I wasn't gonna comment on editing but this one was basically error free which earns it an extra star. story was okay, nothing extraordinary, but I liked the spin on mates the author did.
11th- Gabrielle's Cauldron by Ann Gimpel-4 stars - Ooooh I like this world building. Story has whetted my appetite to read a series based in this.
12th - Shifter Unleashed by Amber Ella Monroe - 2 stars - Um...when a story told in the third person intermittently switches to first person during sex it's a bit jarring.

Alrighty, I'll be kind and put my overall review here so it's easy to find. This box set was poorly edited with mediocre stories except for a few shining examples. Sexual assault is treated like it's nothing in a couple of them. The lack of editing isn't just annoying, it's confusing and downright painful at times. I would not recommend it.

1st story- Strangers in the Night by Anna Lowe - solid 3 star read -clearly part of a series but enjoyed it nonetheless. love established couples and anxious fathers to be.
2nd- Carpathian Wolf by Cara Wylde-2.5 stars imo - So I found a lot about this world that roused my curiosity but the story itself was just okay. However the whole secret societies thing is a weakness of mine so I'll probably read more in this universe.
