The workshop Controlling Audiovisual Systems aims to allow participants to understand and play with different strategies for controlling and composing complex multimedia systems, from light and video to sound systems. The context of the workshop might apply to real-time shows as well as interactive installations.

Over its four days, the workshop will cover various areas, Open uri20160220 3 1d0cse4devices and protocols (DMX light fixtures, Artnet-DMX interfaces, interactivity devices, OSC and MIDI protocols, Syphon…), timeline based sequencing (openFrameworks and ofxTimeline), algorithmic based sequencing with Max/MSP, 3D simulators in Unity etc.

Through the analysis of these technologies and their control protocols, and by working practically with timelines, algorithms and simulators, we will try to understand the control possibilities of these digitally augmented experiences.
